Many PCs won’t run … Many PCs won’t run on a less than “pure,” sine wave. Inverters that provide this cleaner wave form cost a bit more.

Very cool system. … Very cool system. My wife wouldn’t care much for surge protectors hanging from her kitchen wall but the rest of your video is exactly what I’m working on right now. Keep up the good work guy!

What is the overall … What is the overall cost of this system? I assume you are also running a fridge…is that correct? Does it run a computer and printer as well?
Thanks for such a clear description and great video!

does photovoltaic … does photovoltaic solar panels also need batteries?

Nice. I like how … Nice. I like how you explained everything. Makes me feel like I can do it myself. You must save a lot of money on electricity. Do you run your PC off solar?
fencekid Said,
How much you can … How much you can run at once depends on how big your inverter is. Mine is a 1000 watt (still would like to get a bigger one) so I can run up to 1000 watts at once comfortably, but not for very long though. At that rate, I would use up a days worth of charge in no time.

very nice video.. … very nice video..you have a cool systwm for home use with expansion possibilities.Good job.can you run all of the items you mentioned at once with this set-up?

The maximum charge … The maximum charge unit means it can charge the batteries to 100% the reason is batteries fluctuate when they are almost full and the charge controller will turn off the charging but with maximum charge feature it will charge all the way
Nice video, great info

On the battery bank … On the battery bank can’t you use 12 volt deep cell if not, why not ? and also are wind mill better then solar if you at a brezzy beach location
krawler909 Said,
what was your total … what was your total cost as of this video and how much are you saving?
also your problem with the vacuum cleaned may be your inverter. do you have a pure sine wave inverter or a “modified” sine wave inverter. you are going to want the pure if you want your electronics to last.

Pretty amazing … Pretty amazing system there. a little bit of expansion and he won’t worry about the power company for a long time.

I can appreciate … I can appreciate the DIY approach to things, and this set up is clean for a Frankenstein PV system. But don’t you worry about fires or shorts? It seems like you could get some explosive gasses coming off those batteries.
Also wondering if your set up qualifies for the 30% Fed Tax credit for solar? State program rebates?
“A” for effort. Does your meter spin backwards as the panels make juice during sun light hours?
I’m asking cause I’m seriously contemplating doing this.
cheers.
